Dr. Otto von Habsburg, Honorary President of the Schengen Peace Senate

The Senate is a group of senior figures from various walks of life who have committed much time and effort during their careers to the promotion of peace initiatives. Their role is to provide direction to the World Peace Forum which is a much larger body united in an annual conference in Schengen.

The aim for members of both the Senate and Peace Forum is to use their experience to suggest ideas for the promotion of peace. This is likely to include supporting governments, international and intranational organisations, (statutory, non-profit and voluntary), around their development of a peaceful world.

Over time it may develop a preventative and meditative role at regional and global levels, providing a safe facility through which harmony can be negotiated
